Our sister found Lucy hiding under a church about 10 years ago (when she was a puppy) and they've been companions since. Our sister is ill now and unable to care for Lucy, so she needs a new forever home. She is staying with us and our APBT for a short bit, yet I am moving won't be able to have two dogs.

Lucy is a sweet mild girl that absolutely loves belly rubs. She truly enjoys being near her owner over doing anything else. She knows sit, lay down, and leave it. She walks very well on a leash, but can give you a fit if her instinct to critter kicks in. She loves people and is good around adults, the elderly, and children. Lucy does well with other dogs, but needs some personal space. She likes other dogs being around, but doesn't want to interact with them much.

Lucy is by nature a hunting dog. We don't know what training she had before, but she used to run off and bring back wild ducks unharmed from a nearby pond. We suspect that she would be fine around cats that don't harass her or run like prey and might actually enjoy the right feline companion. Lucy has a history of running off and coming back. She would be best to a home with a fenced yard or kept on leash. We are working on training her to stay in our yard and we feel that this behavior can be trained out of her.

Lucy is up to date on her shots (September), in good health, microchipped, and spayed. She comes with a few toys and a bag of NutriSource dog food.
