All of our adoptable animals are in the care of  volunteer foster parents. The foster families provide a safe place for the animal until placement. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please email us info@alabamaspca.org.

Can't Adopt or Foster? Maybe you'd like to provide sponsorship for an animal. Hello my name is Ernie. I'm about 5 or 6 years old. I'm very shy, but I will show you I'm happy/comfortable by wagging my tail. I like to have a safe place in the house to rest during the day. My most favorite hobby is exploring outside! I love to explore my foster parents backyard! And my foster mom says I light up and become a different dog when we go on walks! I love exploring our whole neighborhood! I do love to be pampered though! My foster parents brush me everyday because it just feels so so so good!! It just makes me smile (literally)! No one really knows my past, but they do know that i am little nervous when I have to be picked up to go outside! My confidence level is getting better though, everyday I make more progress! You'll just have to be patient with me at first, but I'll get there! Did I mention I wag my tail to tell you that I'm excited or happy to see you? I do! My foster mom says it's my helicopter wag! Ernie is housebroken. He does get nervous when other dogs bark a lot, so he'll do best in a more quieter home. He really just keeps to himself during the day, and just hangs out! He is fully up to date on everything and has a clean bill of health! When we first got him, he was filthy and all matted up, and while cleaning him up we found out he loves to be pampered. He loves being brushed everyday, and just being loved on, so he will need someone who can give him that. He hasn't been tested with cats, but I honestly don't think he would do anything since he keeps to himself. He does great riding in the car, and doesn't mind traveling. He absolutely loves getting on his leash and going for an adventure (well it's actually just a walk around the neighborhood and to the pet store), but to him it's an adventure!  This pup needs someone who can love them with all they have and will let him learn how to be a spoil pup! Adoption fee $150

Our Adoption Fee is $125, unless otherwise noted, and goes towards the vet expenses for the animals in our care. Included in the adoption contribution is spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines, and microchip.
