About Floyd

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White with Brown or Chocolate
  • Location: 35401
  • Housetrained: Yes

Floyd is a 6 month old retriever terrier mix, great with other dogs, good with all people, and just a wonderful dog all around. Floyd will make some family a great addition!

This handsome boy was a stray at the local animal shelter. No one came back to claim him and we cannot understand why. He's absolutely wonderful and so very smart!

A note from Floyd's foster mom:

"As you can see from his pictures, Floyd is a beauty.  He loves crawling in my lap and rolling over to have his belly rubbed.  He's the same with my husband.  He's learning not to jump on us.  It's almost like he remembers mid-leap that he's not suppose to do that and dances on his hind legs.  Smart, sweet fellow.  He loves for his neck to be rubbed and makes a humming sound.

He is a great dog and deserves a good home.  If I didn't have this pit bull phobia and gave him a decent chance with my dogs, I'd be applying to adopt him.  We are willing to transport him up to 500-600 miles if that means a good rescue.

Several days ago, I noticed Floyd and Jack trying to play thru the fence, so after another successful meet and greet on leashes, I let them play. They play hard and have the best time!"
