Spay/Neuter Information

The Alabama SPCA believes that all companion pets be spayed/neutered to help control the serious issue of pet overpopulation in Alabama.  Below are two spay/neuter programs offered by other organizations in Alabama that we support.

Alabama Animal Adoption Society

The Alabama Animal Adoption Society (abr. AAAS) officers a spay/neuter certificate program with several vet office in the greater birmingham area participating.  Basic prices (obtained from their website) are listed below:

  • Female Cat – $40
  • Male Cat – $30
  • Female Dog – $60
  • Male Dog – $45

Alabama Spay/Neuter Clinic

The Alabama Spay/Neuter Clinic is located in Birmingham and is used by a wide range of individuals and organizations.  It services 13 counties: Jefferson, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Cullman, Blount, Bibb, Chilton, Shelby, St. Clair, Etowah, Calhoun, Talladega and Tallapoosa.  You can find their basic fees listed below:

  • Female Cat – $65
  • Male Cat – $45
  • Female Dog – $80
  • Male Dog – $65
